Tiniest house in the Cotswolds up for auction in September

One of the smallest houses in the Cotswolds is going up for auction at Chorley’s in September. The timber framed Wendy house, reminiscent of a Tudor dwelling, is set to fetch between £12,000 and £15,000 at Chorley’s auctioneers on 17 September.

It has entertained generations of children at the neighbouring Prinknash Bird & Deer Park which is due to close this autumn. The Park was created in 1974 by Philip Meigh MA RCA, an established cartoonist and artist living locally. The space features follies, landscaped parkland and deer, pygmy goats, miniature mediterranean donkeys and waterfowl.

According to the sales info: "This sale offers the unique opportunity for another public attraction or a private individual to acquire a stunning area for children’s parties or perhaps a spot of quiet contemplation for a (small) adult. A nice round-up of 10 tiny homes by The Irish Times includes this two-bedroom cottage called The Secret Garden in Tuosist, County Kerry, 12km away from Kenmare. Features include a wood-burning stove, baby Aga, bedrooms under the eaves and obviously some really spectactular views. On for€286,000 with Sherry FitzGerald Daly.

Tiny Houses North Wales

Tiny Houses North Wales (motto: Tiny in space but not in quality) is a family-run business in Llanrwst in the Snowdonia national park. You can see more images of the company's first model on its website here, with designs running from 12ft to 22ft long, sleeping up to six adults, and on a variety of chassis.

This first house is 6m x 2.4m with a bathroom with power shower, sleeping area in the upper loft and convertible bed/sofa. Other features include an LPG gas combi boiler and the whole thing is insulated with sheep's wool. Again, much more detail on the site.
