10 tiny homes for sale in Ireland

A nice round-up of 10 tiny homes by The Irish Times includes this two-bedroom cottage called The Secret Garden in Tuosist, County Kerry, 12km away from Kenmare. Features include a wood-burning stove, baby Aga, bedrooms under the eaves and obviously some really spectactular views. On for€286,000 with Sherry FitzGerald Daly.

Tiny Eco Homes UK

Based near Newcastle upon Tyne, Tiny Eco Homes UK offer a range of fully-kitted out tiny homes on a high quality chassis from 14ft x 8ft to 22ft x 8ft as well as a bespoke service. Interestingly they say that their flat pack kits and shell only (fully built with roof, windows and door, but no internal cladding, rooms, electrics, plumbing or insulation) builds are the most popular form of homes that they supply.

The traditional range is made with thermally treated timber with lifetime warranty against rot. Inside there is:

- a kitchen with electric oven and two burner electric hob plus a solid oak worktop and fridge freezer,
- a bathroom with steam spa shower and electric flushing toilet - a loft area to fit a King size bed - Lpg gas boiler
They have also teamed up with finance broker Pegasus to offer various finance options when buying one of their models.

Tiny house building courses

Tiny Eco Homes UK is one of the few places where you can go on a course to learn how to build a timber frame home. They are run from August to November and range from £300 for a day-long course (basic frame construction and fitting frame to chassis) to £800 for a five day course which includes everything from how to ensure your build is road legal to electrics, plumbing and off-grid basics as well as hands-on construction.
