As part of the Whim travel app launch in the UK Central Square in Birmingham has been hosting the Tikku tiny house designed by Marco Casagrande and first seen at Helsinki Design Week last year. It has three storeys and measures 5m by 2.5m, or what the organisers describe as the footprint of a parking space.
Tikku means 'stick' in Finnish and is made from cross-laminated timber that can be assembled very swiftly and has solar panels, but no foundations. The top floor has a definite greenhouse vibe.
