Skye Tiny House, run by Emma Appleton, builds "complete homes on wheels that are warm, bright and just enough. Perfect for a holiday retreat in the wilds, a home to move into or a secluded artists studio." Features include a fully fitted kitchen with handmade beech work surfaces, a full height living room and wood-burning stove plus built-in sound system, bathroom (including shower), a mezzanine bedroom and handles made by a local Skye ceramicist.
The whole thing - 18ft long by 8ft wide - is made from Scots pine from Strathpeffer with local larch cladding, a red tin roof and galvanised steel guttering, sitting happily on a 8′ x 18′ flat-bed chassis. It runs on a 12v electric system.
